Only 2 weeks into 2013 and we get to give another one of our clients the good news that their House extension has been given planning approval.
This time its a single storey side and rear extension to a detached house in York. This was orginally a 2 storey design but strong opposition from local residents and the Parish Council meant a revision to the scheme. As we were acting as the clients agent throughout the process, we were able to discuss the project with the planning department, agree a provisional way forward and revise the plans accordingly.
Whilst a two storey extension would have been the first choice, the client accepted that sometimes the concerns of neighbours and any lond standing local issues (in this case close proximety to York University and an influx of student shared housing) meant that plans had to be scaled back if an approval was to be granted.
Currently in discussions with Builders, its expected this will be built in Spring, ready for summer!
